As
technology has moved on, it has now proved possible to host video
clips of flying boats on this web site, something that I'm very
pleased to provide as there is nothing like seeing the real thing on
the move! I have through the kind generosity of a number of
correspondents around the world collected a number of these, and
each and every one is full of details that a picture sometimes
cannot provide; the people, the time, the magnificent sounds, the sheer beauty of a flying
boat being flown right in front of you..........
If you wish
to submit a flying boat video clip, or know where there is one that
would add to this Gallery please e-mail SEAWINGS
by clicking
here.
I would love to add to this list as time goes on.

This
Video Gallery Page is respectfully dedicated to the memory of
Flight Lieutenant Dimitris Stoilidis and Flying Officer
Yiannis Hatzoudis - CL-415 crew - 383 Fire Fighting Squadron -
Hellenic Air Force. On
23rd July 2007 Flight Lieutenant Dimitris Stoilidis, aged 34, and Flying
Officer Yiannis Hatzoudis, aged 27, were killed when their CL-415 came
down in the area of Styra, southern Evia, Greece. Stoilidis was a married
father of two twin boys, whilst Hatzoudis was single.
SEAWINGS
is proud to host these video's as a lasting memorial to this crew and to
dedicate this Video Gallery in their honour. The job that all the many
Fire Bomber crews around the world do is, by it's very nature, fraught
with danger. They are the most dedicated
and professional of flying boat crews who, despite the risk's involved,
continue to serve where required to protect lives and property. R.I.P

This is the
very detailed examination of the sad and tragic crash of Chalk
Ocean Airways Flight 101 - a Grumman G.78 Mallard - out of
Miami, Florida on 19th December 2005
When all the
reasons for the crash were exposed, as outlined in this video,
it brought about the immediate grounding of the remainder of the
Chalk's fleet and the subsequent demise of the airline.
All 20
passengers and crew on board this 1947 Mallard were killed. This
very aircraft is featured in the Walk-Round Gallery elsewhere on
this site, where SEAWINGS was fortunate to be able to board her
some time prior to the incident and shoot loads of images, which were used by the N.T.S.B.
during the investigation.
