This model was made from the Contrail vac-form kit, the Maia lower hull and wings being kindly sent to me by Gordon Sutcliffe (Mr. Contrail!) after I was unable to locate a copy of the boxed kit. The upper Mercury, albeit available in kit form, was virtually useless. I used the fuselage halves but scratchbuilt the wings and the tailplane and fin. The engines were adapted from the Matchbox fairy Fox floatplane and all the struts were constructed using Contrail strut material. Both cockpits are fully detailed.
