The only survivor; that's this superbly restored and cared for Martin PBM-5A Mariner. Having seen it at first-hand several years ago pre-restoration - see my walk-round images in the other gallery, I can see it has been given a huge dose of tender-loving care and is now housed indoors at the Pima County Air Museum, Arizona - one of my all-time favourite places to visit.

So, when one of our long-time West Coast, USA correspondents, Vladimir Yakubov pays a visit and shoots such a fantastic series of photographs, the resulting images just have to have a dedicated gallery all to themselves! And, what a series! If you ever wondered how to shoot a walk-round and what to look for, then look no further as this is an object lesson in how to do it properly and professionally.

He is one of a very small select group of modeller/enthusiasts that - in my humble opinion - has worked out how to provide the modeller and the flying boat enthusiast with exactly the images they would shoot if they were lucky enough to actually be there with the subject - another is Howard Mason - and to see a series as good as this, well it doesn't get any better!

Vladimir is also lucky enough to be a member of the Silicon Valley Scale Modellers club whose website can be found here and is well worth a visit being a superbly organised outfit.

Vladimir, thank you so much for taking the trouble to shoot this stunning series and for allowing me to share it with us all here as you have unselfishly done for a number of years now on SEAWINGS.
