One of the first ever flights in a flying boat is captured on this original film showing Glen Curtiss testing an engine-less example as a towed glider behind a launch. Looks remarkably like the forerunner of the Curtiss 'F' boat.

On 15th September 2007 the 'America' replica was launched on Keuka Lake, Hammondsport the historical home of Curtiss aviation. It was hoped to fly her but the team had to settle for taxiing due to the correct engines not being ready in-time.
